The vision for Great Whaddon, and this part of it, is to create a well-connected new community with a distinctive sense of place, where people can live, work, learn and play and where green infrastructure is improved for people and wildlife, including protected bat species.
The masterplan is ambitious outcome both for new and existing residents. We wish to improve the place.
Our aim is to start creating a new neighbourhood. We want residents to be proud of their home, their neighbourhood and the surrounding landscape. We want to encourage care in the local area and neighbourly vibrancy and vitality.

Sustainable transport has been considered from the earliest stages of plan-making at Great Whaddon so that it is reflected in the vision for the plan village, as it will form an integral part of a masterplan’s strategy for creating well-designed, sustainable, inclusive and popular places to live.

Create Streets

Lightwood is a land promoter that works with landowners, councils and local groups to create new settlements, neighbourhoods, streets and places that deliver homes and supporting facilities. Lightwood aim to be a leader in the establishment of better and more beautiful places in which to live and work.
Once planning permission is secured, the land is sold to housebuilders and other developers to proceed with the more detailed phases of design, planning and delivery, led by parameters set out in Outline applications and, increasingly, Strategic Design Codes.
